Farms

Farms are the slowest, sneakiest scoring in the game. A folk laid down on a field becomes a farmer, and never comes home — they're committed to that patch of countryside for the rest of the game.

Why farms only score at the end

A field's value depends on which cities around it eventually get completed, and you can't always tell whose field is whose until the map is locked in. That's why this app deliberately hides Farm from the in-game scoring options — you'll only see it in the End-game wizard, where the math can be honest.

How farms score

  • For each winning farmer (the player with the most folks in a given field — or every tied leader),
  • count the completed cities the field borders, and
  • score 3 points per city.

Add one entry per winning farmer per field. If a player has two farmers winning two different fields, that's two entries.

Defining a field

A field is everything green that's connected without crossing a road or a city wall. Roads slice fields; cities border them. So two fields on different sides of a road are different fields, even if they touch the same city.
